When I began this painting I found myself thinking about how birds communicate — how they move through the world, gathering fragments of news, carrying stories in their wings, and sharing them in ways we can’t fully understand. There is something mysterious in that, something that mirrors us more than we admit.

The two sparrows in this painting became symbols of that hidden exchange. One leans forward with urgency, as if returning from a long flight with something important to say.

As I worked, I realized the scene wasn’t just about birds. It was about us. About how we, too, move through moments of urgency. How we carry our own stories, hoping someone will hear them.

For me, “Listen to me” is a reminder that communication is often invisible — a subtle flow of energy, intention, and emotion. The birds may be still, but the message between them is alive.
