This painting is born from my own walks along the Swedish west coast, in Havstensund. The red‑roofed houses there have always felt like anchors against the shifting sea, and I wanted to capture that sense of belonging. The seagull on the roof is not just a detail — for me it became a symbol of watchfulness, of the quiet companionship you feel when standing alone by the shore. The pink blossoms remind me of how fragile beauty can be, blooming even in the salt wind. When I painted this, I wasn’t only recording a scene; I was painting a memory of calm, of home, of the rhythm of the coast. A piece held in color and light.
