Often I find scenes where not much is happening, yet everything feels alive. This painting is about a simple yellow house and a closed white window with silence around it. I stood there and could hear a kind of whispering conversation between the nature and the stillness of the home.

The tree branch leaning gently towards the window, as if it’s trying to reach someone inside. Below it, hollyhocks bloom -full of color and light. They stand there day after day, and it is like the Holyhocks and the Tree are wondering Why doesn’t the window open? What has happened? Holyhocks and the tree have known each other for years. They have so much to share.
